The enrollment of international students has started. Relevant matters are notified as follows:

1. Application Period

(a) Postgraduate students: January19,2018——April30,2018. (For Chinese Government Scholarship applicants, the deadline is March 30, 2017)

(b) Undergraduate students: January19,2018——May10,2018.

(c) languagestudents: In principle, the deadline is May30,2018. If we have to receive students for special needs, recruit units should attach written documents.

2. Enrollment and Majors

The number of enrollment depends on the number of applicants of the current year without occupying the original enrollment assigned by the authorities. The majors are set according to relevant enrollment guide. Whether a foreign student is accepted or not will be decided by  the admission notice issued by Fuzhou University.

3. Admissions Process:

(a) Office of Cooperation and Exchange and other related departments in Fuzhou University issue admissions information and enrollment guide about international students, reply to international students’ admission consulting and receive application materials. The special mailbox for the enrollment of international students is faoadmission@fzu.edu.cn.

 After the registration, Office of Cooperation and Exchange will first review international students' application materials in accordance with relevant state regulations, then deliver the eligible application materials to the related departments and colleges for review again.

In order to further improve the quality of enrollment, do a good job in the first review of international students’ enrollment and improve the quality of international students, each college which enrolls international students should submit the list of courses intended to be taught in English to the foreign office in advance (including bachelor, master and doctor), and the concrete measures for submission will make further notice. If colleges do not do the above, the courses are defaulted to teaching in Chinese. That means, the applicants need to pass HSK5 (The Chinese Proficiency Test) or above, and the HSK6 certificate is preferred.

(b) Colleges can decide the concrete mode of academic assessment and academic evaluation according to the characteristic of majors, and select international students who meet the admission requirements under the principle of "fairness, justice and openness", then submit the postgraduates’ admission list to the Office of Graduate Admission for summary and review, undergraduates’ admission list to the foreign students department in Office of Cooperation and Exchange for summary.

(c) Office of Cooperation and Exchange need to inform the students who are intended to be admitted on the basis of fully respecting each college’s admission opinions, and affirm whether the students will accept the admission, then handle the relevant reports and approval procedures for students’ subsequent study in China.

(d) The admitted students should register with in the specified time the admission letter and the legal entry certificate has given. And our school does not accept students who do not have a study visa.

(e) If colleges expect to recruit all kinds of long and short term students, they should assess the comprehensive quality of the students, and issue written comments together with students’ application materials to Office of Cooperation and Exchange for review.

4. Eligibility

(a) Applicants must be in good health, of good character, willing to comply withChinese laws and regulations as well as the regulations of Fuzhou University, and respect social moral and customs in China.

(b) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid ordinary passports, love Chinawithout any criminal record abroad.

(c) Applicants from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who have emigrated to foreign countries should have had a valid foreign passport and a certificate of naturalization for more than 4 years (including 4 years). Besides, there should be records that he or she has actually resided overseas for more than 2 years within the recent 4 years (before April 30 of the freshman year). Residence period of above 9 months but less than one year can be deemed as one year, which is subject to entry and exit stamps.  

(d) Applicants should have a basic knowledge of Chinese or English that meet the requirement of admission. Applicantsshould pass the HSK5 in principle. Students who apply to be taught in English should have a good English ability.

(e)Education background and age limit:

1) Applicants for bachelor’s degree studies must have high school degree at least and be under the age of 30.

2) Applicants for master degree studies must have bachelor’s degree at least and be under the age of 35.

3) Applicants for Doctoral degree studies must have master’s degree at least and be under the age of 40.

4) Applicants for general or senior visiting students should meet relevant degree requirements and be under the age of 50.

  (f) Other requirements are implemented according to relevant enrollment guide.

5. Application Materials

(a) Admission application form for foreign students of FZU (applicants forBachelor’s degree studies and applicants for language studies see attachment 1, applicants for master’s or doctor’s degree studies see attachment 2)

(b) The photocopy of the valid ordinary passport, the duration of study should be within the period of validity.

(c) 2 pieces of recently-taken two inch half-length, bareheaded, full-faced color photos (white background, applicant’s names in the back)

(d) Notarized photocopy of highest diploma and academic certificate (graduates of last academic year should submit a study certificated provided by the university) .

(e) Notarized photocopy of transcripts

(g) Personal statement of applicant in Chinese or in English

The content should include: study and work experience, special achievements; the capacity for scientific research and other capacity;applicants for doctoral degree studies should describe the creativity of master degree thesis or work; students who apply for doctoral degree or master’s degree are entitled to list one or two target tutors.

(h) A study or research plan in Chinese or in English, including problems that should be solved and expectation of research. Applicants for bachelor degree should write it no less than 400 words. Students who apply for doctoral degree or master’s degree should write it no less than 2000 words.

(i) Applicants for Master’s degree or Doctor’s degree should provide two recommendation letters in Chinese or English (associate professor at least)

(j) The photocopy of HSK certificate

6. Registration

Admitted foreign students come to Fuzhou University with student visa and admission letter for registration. The exact date is subject to the admission letter. New students should show the original of diploma, academic certificate and physical examination report for review on the registration day. The students who can not provide these original documents are not allowed to register.If it is found that there is any cheating, violation, or fake documents, the admission will be canceled.

7. Scholarship Application

Applicants can apply forthese three kinds of scholarship: Chinese Government

Scholarship,Provincial Government Scholarship of Fujian, and Fuzhou University Scholarship.

For Provincial Government Scholarship of Fujian and Fuzhou University Scholarship, please download the admission application form and prepare relevant materials according to the attached list.

All application materials will be sent to the foreign students department in the Office of Cooperation and Exchange in the form of paper version before the registration deadline. All email and SMS applications are invalid.
